"ASQ TESTING WINDOWS"

As a Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) you are a professional who will lead and champion process improvement initiatives – everywhere from small businesses to multinational corporations – that can have regional or global focus in a variety of service and industrial settings. 

  • Core Competencies of a CMQ/OE
    • The CMQ/OE facilitates and leads team efforts to establish and monitor customer / supplier relations; supports strategic planning and deployment initiatives, and helps develop measurement systems to determine organizational improvement.

    • Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CMQ/OE Body of Knowledge (BoK).
    • Computer Delivered: The CMQ/OE exam is a one-part, 180 multiple-choice questions, four-hour exam delivered via computer-based testing by ASQ's testing partner, Prometric, during the January, March, May, July, September and November "testing windows". 165 questions are scored and 15 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).
    • All examinations are open-book. Each participant must bring his or her own reference materials. Use of reference materials and calculators is explained in the FAQs on ASQs website (www.asq.org). The exam is offered in English.  It is also offered in Mandarin (only in China) via paper-based testing twice per year in four high-demand cities only.

 

As a Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) you are a professional who understands how to use the principles of performance evaluation and prediction to improve product/system safety, reliability, and maintainability.  CREs use engineering, probability, statistics, and other tools to ensure that their products and systems are efficient and reliable.

  • Core Competencies of a CRE
    • A broad overview of reliability fundamentals including predictive modeling, root cause analysis, mean time to failure (MTTF), corrective and preventive action (CAPA), and more.
    • Identification, analysis, and mitigation of risk using techniques such as fault tree analysis (FTA), failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), hazard analysis, and need for design change.
    • Analysis, management of data, and insights using probability statistics for reliability.
    • Application of reliability planning, testing (accelerated life, stress screening, etc.), and modeling (reliability block diagrams, failure models, etc.) to inform design choices with a focus on life-cycle reliability through design techniques such as stress-strength analysis, design of experiments (DOE), design for reliability (DfR), and maintainability strategies.

The Certified Quality Technician (CQT) is a paraprofessional who, in support of and under the direction of quality engineers or supervisors, analyzes and solves quality problems, prepares inspection plans and instructions, selects sampling plan applications, prepares procedures, trains inspectors, performs audits, analyzes quality costs and other quality data, and applies fundamental statistical methods for process control.  Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written and proctored examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CQT Body of Knowledge.  The CQT exam is a one-part, 110-question, four-hour exam delivered via computer-based testing by ASQ's testing partner, Prometric, during the January, March, May, July, September and November "testing windows".  100 questions are scored and 10 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).  All examinations are open-book. Each participant must bring his or her own reference materials. The Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) works with an organization's supply chain and suppliers to continuously improve performance of key system components (increase lifecycle, reduce scrap, improve repair processes) by implementing process controls and developing quality assurance plans. The Certified Supplier Quality Professional tracks data, identifies improvement projects, and manages cross functional implementation to improve performance of key components and suppliers.  Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CSQP Body of Knowledge. The CSQP exam is a one-part, 165-question, four-hour exam delivered via computer-based testing by ASQ's testing partner, Prometric, during the January, March, May, July, September and November "testing windows".  150 questions are scored and 15 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).  All examinations are open-book. The Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) is an inspector who, in support of and under the direction of quality engineers, supervisors, or technicians, can use the proven techniques included in the body of knowledge.  Under professional direction, the Quality Inspector evaluates hardware documentation, performs laboratory procedures, inspects products, measures process performance, records data and prepares formal reports.  Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written and proctored examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CQI Body of Knowledge.  The CQI exam is a one-part, 110-question, four-hour exam delivered via computer-based testing by ASQ's testing partner, Prometric, during the January, March, May, July, September and November "testing windows" which begin.  100 questions are scored and 10 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).  All examinations are open-book. The Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) is a professional who can explain Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools.  A Black Belt should demonstrate team leadership, understand team dynamics and assign team member roles and responsibilities.  Black Belts have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the DMAIC model in accordance with Six Sigma principles.  They have basic knowledge of Lean enterprise concepts, are able to identify non-value-added elements and activities and are able to use specific tools.  Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written and proctored examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CSSBB Body of Knowledge.  The CSSBB exam is a one-part, 165-question, four-hour exam delivered via computer-based testing by ASQ's testing partner, Prometric, during the January, March, May, July, September and November "testing windows".  150 questions are scored and 15 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).  All examinations are open-book. "ASQ TESTING WINDOWS"

The Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is a professional who understands the principles of product and service quality evaluation and control.  This body of knowledge and applied technologies include, but are not limited to, development and operation of quality control systems, application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures, the ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices, an understanding of human factors and motivation, familiarity with quality cost concepts and techniques, and the knowledge and ability to develop and administer management information systems and to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.  Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written and proctored examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CQE Body of Knowledge.  The CQE examination is a one-part, 175-question, five-hour exam delivered via computer-based testing by ASQ's testing partner, Prometric, during the February, April, June, August, October and December "testing windows".  160 questions are scored and 15 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).  All examinations are open-book. Each participant must bring his or her own reference materials. The Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is a professional who understands the standards and principles of auditing and the auditing techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating and reporting to determine a quality system’s adequacy and deficiencies.  The CQA analyzes all elements of a quality system and judges its degree of adherence to the criteria of industrial management and quality evaluation and control systems.  Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written and proctored examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CQA Body of Knowledge.  The CQA examination is a one-part, 165-question, five-hour exam delivered via computer-based testing by ASQ's testing partner, Prometric, during the February, April, June, August, October and December "testing windows".  150 questions are scored and 15 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).  All examinations are open-book. The Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) has a basic knowledge of quality tools and their uses and is involved in quality improvement projects, but doesn't necessarily come from a traditional quality area.  Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written and proctored examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CQIA Body of Knowledge.  The CQIA examination is a one-part, 110-question, three-hour exam delivered via computer-based testing by ASQ's testing partner, Prometric, during the February, April, June, August, October and December "testing windows". 100 questions are scored and 10 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).  All examinations are open-book. Each participant must bring his or her own reference materials. The Certified Quality Process Analyst (CQPA) is a paraprofessional who, in support of and under the direction of quality engineers or supervisors, analyzes and solves quality problems and is involved in quality improvement projects.  A CQPA may be a recent graduate or someone with work experience who wants to demonstrate his or her knowledge of quality tools and processes.  Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written and proctored examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CQPA Body of Knowledge.  The CQPA exam is a one-part, 110-question, four-hour exam delivered via computer-based testing by ASQ's testing partner, Prometric, during the February, April, June, August, October and December "testing windows".  100 questions are scored and 10 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).  All examinations are open-book. The Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) operates in support of or under the supervision of a Six Sigma Black Belt, analyzes and solves quality problems and is involved in quality improvement projects.  A Green Belt is someone with at least three years of work experience who wants to demonstrate his or her knowledge of Six Sigma tools and processes.  Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written and proctored examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CSSGB Body of Knowledge.  The CSSGB exam is a one-part, 110-question, four-hour exam delivered via computer-based testing by ASQ's testing partner, Prometric, during the February, April, June, August, October and December "testing windows". 100 questions are scored and 10 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).  All examinations are open-book.
