Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)

The Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) is an inspector who, in support of and under the direction of quality engineers, supervisors, or technicians, can use the proven techniques included in the body of knowledge. Under professional direction, the Quality Inspector evaluates hardware documentation, performs laboratory procedures, inspects products, measures process performance, records data and prepares formal reports. Each certification candidate is required to pass an ASQ written and proctored examination that consists of multiple-choice questions that measure comprehension of the CQI Body of Knowledge.

The CQI exam is a one-part, 110-question, four-hour exam delivered by ASQ's testing partner, Pyrometric, during the January, March, May, July, September and November "testing windows".  100 questions are scored and 10 are unscored (used as possible future exam questions).

All examinations are open-book. Each participant must bring his or her own reference materials. Use of reference materials and calculators is explained in the seating letter provided to applicants.  All examinations are open-book. Each participant must bring his or her own reference materials.
